Andrea is a Ph.D. Candidate in Accounting at the Florida State University with a planned graduation date of May 2022. She is currently on the job market and seeking a tenure-track assistant professor position. She conducts financial archival research with an emphasis on the effects of regulatory changes on financial reporting and disclosure as well as analyst use of qualitative information. Andrea has most recently taught Intermediate Financial Accounting & Reporting (rating 4.71/5.0) and Analysis of Financial Statement Presentation (rating 4.10/5.0). In addition, she has served as an instructor of record and/or teaching assistant for Introductory Managerial Accounting and Introductory Financial Accounting. Andrea is a McKnight Fellow, an AICPA Minority Doctoral Student Fellow and a AAA/Deloitte/J. Michael Cook Doctoral Consortium Fellow. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida and maintains professional memberships with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the American Accounting Association (AAA).
At Deloitte, I worked with CFOs, CAOs, and their respective departments to implement
ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, and to meet SEC financial reporting requirements driven by
carve-outs, acquisitions, IPOs, and mergers.
As a Postgraduate Technical Assistant (PTA) at the FASB, I assisted with drafting the Insurance Contracts Exposure Draft, presented technical issues to the Board, participated in roundtable discussions with preparers, investors
and analysts, and analyzed stakeholder and Board member comments.
