William (Bill) Smith holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at NMSU and Director of the Management PhD Program. Dr. Smith is both a licensed CPA and CGMA and is an active business consultant. His research has appeared in academic journals such as Organizational Research Methods, Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Accounting and Finance, Behaviour & Information Technology, and Recherches en Sciences de Gestion – Management Sciences. In addition to his many conference presentations and other publications, he also has published numerous scholarly book chapters that integrate both management and accounting research.
