Background

Monica Kabutey is a Ph.D. candidate in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas, with a planned graduation date of May 2023. She is currently on the job market and seeking a tenure-track assistant professor position. Her research mainly focuses on human judgment and decision-making in accounting situations, using experimental techniques to investigate how accounting professionals assess and select between possible outcomes under varying circumstances. Monica has taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Income Tax Accounting, and Accounting and Finance for Non-Business Majors. She has also served as a tutor and teaching assistant for Cost Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Taxation of Flow-Through Entities, and Financial Statement Analysis. Monica is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas, with over seven years of professional experience in financial reporting and managerial accounting. Monica is a 2022 AAA Representative to European Accounting Association Doctoral Colloquium Fellow, an AICPA Minority Doctoral Student Fellow, and a AAA/Deloitte/J. Michael Cook Doctoral Consortium Fellow.
