ContactI currently teach cost accounting at Idaho State University. I previously taught taxation and cost accounting for two years in the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business at Murray State University, a year at Texas A&M University-Commerce, and taxation for five years in the School of Accountancy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I have taught taxation for individuals, corporate taxation, sales & local taxation, tax research, auditing, international accounting, financial accounting, and managerial accounting to Bachelors and Masters students at six public universities. I have delivered university courses in traditional face-to-face, online, hybrid, and synchronous distance learning settings. I have also taught Continuing Professional Education for CPAs and tax training for Site Coordinators in the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Prior to joining academia, I was an accountant from July 1998 through July 2008 at Valero Energy Corporation, Brehm, Havel & Company CPAs, and Fernie R. Aceves CPA. I have performed audits, reviews, and compilations. I have prepared individual, corporate (C & S), partnership, exempt organization, employment, sales, gift, and fuel tax returns at the Federal and state levels. I have also represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service.
