Dr. Rochelle Parks-Yancy is Full Professor of Management at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University. Her PhD is from Rutgers University. Her face to face and online teaching expertise is in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. Prior to academia, she directed executive development programs for managers and was account manager for a career development organization. Dr. Parks-Yancy’s research examines social capital's impact on careers. She is published in The Online Journal of Distance Education & e-Learning, Handbook of the Social Psychology of Inequality, International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, Journal of College Student Development, Annual Review of Sociology, Foreign Service Journal, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Sociological Spectrum, Sociological Imagination, Management Communication Quarterly, Michigan Sociological Review, Journal of Family and Economic Issues, Journal of Mental Health, Religion and Culture, Critical Sociology and in Research in the Sociology of Work: Diversity in the Workforce. -Dr. Parks-Yancy has trained managers at the Jesse H. Jones African Trade Symposium and managers at GE. -In 2010, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to Armenia. She taught graduate students at American University of Armenia, studied Armenian job search practices and trained managers at Gold's Gym, Inc. -She published two books. -My teaching expertise is both online and face to face, and my evaluations consistently exceed 4.0/5.0. -Developed unit wide programs that have been adopted by the institution: including the Human Resources concentration for the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at TSU. This concentration increased the program offerings of the business school towards attracting enrollment.
-Completed the Faculty Engagement chapter for the JHJ AACSB reaccreditation report in 2016, which led to the JHJ reaccreditation.
