      Background

      Karl has over 10 years of experience as a consultant, lecturer, author and entrepreneur. He is a consultant with Guidepoint Global Advisors, Inc. where he advises hedge funds and other organizations as it pertains to the transportation industry (i.e., aviation and courier services). Karl lectures in the economics, business and risk management department at Queens College – City University of New York. At other academic institutions, both undergraduate and graduate programs, he taught in business, economics, urban affairs, nursing and public administration programs. The lectured courses in the preceding programs include • microeconomics • macroeconomics • advanced microeconomics • marketing • business economics • business communication • business writing • management • budgeting • organizational behavior • ethics • human resources • policy planning • systems • immigration and urban diversity in New York City • critical thinking in nursing • urban studies • public policy • public administration Karl is the author of “Afrika’s Struggle: His Experiential Journey” (see www.karl-mitchell.com for more information). Karl is working on a high technology start-up, with two partners, which will bridge the gap between financial institutions and the unbanked and underbanked populations. Karl holds two graduate degrees and an undergraduate degree from Queens College – CUNY (completing a semester at Stevens Institute of Technology). The degrees are as follows: • M.A. in Urban Affairs – summa cum laude • M.A.L.S. (concentration in economics) - cum laude • B.A. in Economics (concentration in finance) Moreover, he pursued a Ph.D. in Public & Urban Policy (economics track) at the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy of The New School (completed a semester at the CUNY Graduate Center).
