Background
Hello! I am a PhD candidate in Strategy in the Management department at McCombs School of Business, at the University of Texas at Austin. My research interests include: Innovation, Technology Adaptation and Change, External Influences on Innovation, Organizational Learning, Healthcare, and Startups. My research interest lies at the intersection of innovation, strategy and organizational theory-- particularly the role external actors take in influencing firm adaptation of technology and innovation. One stream examines how outside entities can influence firms’ innovation trajectories. A second stream, including my dissertation work, investigates how firms manage the pacing of innovations. In particular how firms must manage when to engage in exploration of a novel domain or when to pursue exploitation in existing ones, with an emphasis on the asymmetric behavior of incumbents and startups.
