Background
My research interests are societal level culture (values & norms) and moral emotions (shame & guilt). Most of my research focuses on rule-breaking and deviance. I'm interested in the cultural forces that shape beliefs about what is considered right and wrong behavior, how people respond to wrongdoings emotionally, how emotional cultures influence beliefs about appropriate responses to wrongdoing and how cultural beliefs about right and wrong implicate our judgements of others.
