    José Antonio Rosa is a professor in the Department of Marketing at Iowa State University. He teaches a variety of marketing courses at undergraduate, professional graduate, and doctoral levels. His areas of interest include subsistence consumers and consumer merchants, goal persistence, embodied knowledge, transformative consumer research, and creativity and innovation among consumers. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration and Psychology from the University of Michigan. His current research projects include sustainable consumption among the poor, health goal pursuits, subsistence consumer deviance and innovativeness, and the role of hope in creativity. In the past, Rosa has studied the influence of body knowledge on the creative imagination, and internet shopper behaviors. He has also studied how low-literacy and low-numeracy consumers navigate retail environments, the use of coupons by ethnic minority groups, and subsistence merchant life strategies in response to competing demands from family, customers, and suppliers . In addition, he conducted research into the commitment and motivation exhibited by members of network marketing organizations, the socio-cognitive development of product markets, and the influence of prior-purchase satisfaction on group attitudes and decisions. In 2013-2014, Jose was an American Council on Education Fellow, working with President William Perry and Provost Blair Lord at Eastern Illinois University.
