Background
My research uses novel, innovative theories and methods to understand the experience of difference from an intersectionality perspective. The overarching question driving my work is how can management scholars leverage intersectionality theory to move beyond categorical methods of studying diversity and related outcomes? My interdisciplinary academic background and training facilitates my ability to collaborate with scholars across multiple disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology, communication, etc.) and to integrate theories and methodologies from multiple domains to study diversity-related phenomena in the workplace. My specific areas of focus are identity formation and expression in the workplace, leadership, and work groups and teams. My research has been published in outlets such as Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
