    Background

    Marla L. White is a Management Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research primarily focuses on leadership, intersectionality, discrimination, and diversity management, where she seeks to address issues related to supporting an increasingly diverse workforce. Marla’s research has been published as a best paper in the 2021 Academy of Management Annual Proceedings and in Human Resource Management Review, and she presently has an invitation for revision from the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology. She has several projects in her research pipeline for submission to top journals. Marla is actively involved in several management organizations and has been a reviewer for various journals and conferences. Before pursuing her Ph.D., Marla worked at Texas Instruments, where she held numerous leadership roles in finance and HRM. She has successfully taught courses in HRM, Contemporary Management Challenges, and Leadership. Marla leverages her industry experiences, extensive network, and research to engage and equip students for leadership in an increasingly complex and diverse workforce.
