Background
I am a management scholar who is particularly interested in how various identities influence cognitive and affective perceptions, behavior, and decision-making within the context of organizations. Also, I am interested in the extent to which inclusion of these various identities impact performance outcomes. My work is informed by my lived experiences as a Former HR Business Partner, first-generation college student, and first-generation white-collar employee. I aim to contribute to the field of management by demonstrating how the understanding and inclusion of varying identity backgrounds at various levels of the organization is critical for organizations to compete with talent. Ultimately, my research matters because it takes a more nuanced perspective regarding diversity in the workplace and provides insights for practitioners to develop interventions throughout the entirety of the employee’s life-cycle.
