    Background

I am an economics PhD candidate at the University of South Carolina on the 2026-2027 job market. My research centers on tax policy and housing markets. In my job market paper, I explore whether the relative over-taxation of the cheapest homes within a jurisdiction translates to sales price discounts, finding that bottom-quartile homes sell at a price discount of 19% following a reassessment. In prior work, I have explored how local place-based tax incentives change the location of new housing construction and the capacity of large-language models (LLMs) to replicate seminal findings on human labor supply behavior under marginal tax changes.
